This afternoon we took the Metro up to Georgetown (the neighborhood, not the university) to do some exploring. According to one of our guidebooks, Georgetown is "D.C.'s most exclusive neighborhood, with its prize winning gardens, gorgeous historic homes, and plenty of people watching." Our afternoon consisted mostly of walking through the neighborhood drooling over houses and window shopping in the plethora of boutiques. Of course, we also took a break for pastries and a latte at a French bakery. Who cares about architecture when there are pastries to sample?
We'll definitely return to Georgetown to check out the shopping and possibly to tour Dumbarton Oaks. We forgot the camera when we headed out today, so you will have to wait for pictures of our next adventure. Tomorrow we plan to take Cooper to explore the National Arboretum--hopefully we'll have some photos to share then.
Following our afternoon of exploring Ryan headed to watch the Nebraska game at Union Pub, which hosts watch parties for the Husker alumni group. He seems to think it is more fun to watch the game surrounded by a bunch screaming red-clad mid-westerners.
